Attendees: Maureen Haley, Tammy Cotter, Belen Wieler-Hawes, Pam Myers-Kinney, Patty Olson, Jean Ackerly, Katelyn White and Dick Passeri
President, Maureen: We agreed on May 6, Saturday, 9am for the Plant Sale. Letters to Market Basket, Shaw’s, Kmart and other corporations were for plant donations. Acquired a list of the 2600 households from the Town Clerk, to use for membership at some point, somehow.
Vice President, Tammy: We have 107 members and 18 qualify for the Membership Grows Raffle. Received donations in memory of Lois Anderson. Maureen and Tammy to meet with Ruth Yesair, (former Trustee) to discuss her idea for a tote bag. Tammy reported the Newbury items inventory and we should think about the supply of boat flags needed with spring coming.
Treasurer, Pam: Maureen read Pam’s Report: We raised more money in the past 6 months than all of last year, due to Membership, also increased is Donations and Book sales. We’re at 70% of Stretch Goal $10K. Expenses are higher due to extra postage for Membership, purchasing Newbury items and joining the Chamber of Commerce. Pam recommends holding off on tote bags until we sell more merchandise.
VP Communications, Belen: The 2nd draft of the Newsletter to be sent via Mailchimp once done. Waiting for Plant Night and Paint Night dates. Oregano’s busy and Otto’s Restaurant is booked through March. She’s hoping to have LulaRoe host a fundraiser as they offer a 20% donation.
Library Director, Jean Ackerly: Erin Tuomi, Assistant Director, is leaving NTL Feb. 3, and will be at the Newburyport Library – We wish you happiness Erin! Maureen suggested NTL’s financial to be communicated to the town, Dick Passeri (Trustee) suggested writing to Selectmen and Town Administrator as past focus has been on public safety, to be resolved at Jan. 31 town meeting vote of upgrading facilities. Belen suggested a campaign to target the schools and promote NTL, Katelyn to contact NES & Triton to discuss methods to promote the library and possibly draft a letter for patrons to send to the town when asking about programs discontinued, hours open, etc. Jean’s advice would be for individual, personal letters advising the town of our feelings about value of library, and/or stop by the Selectmen’s coffee hours, email Tracy Blais or someone on the Finance Committee. But wait until after the public safety vote is over on Jan 31, 2017. (Notes amended by MH on Jan. 29, 2017).
