The Friends Board would like to thank the community for your generosity in helping us to support library programs. The Harvest Festival raised $1,008.00 of which 100% is donated to the library. If you were lucky enough to be there during the busy Halloween weekend you most likely tasted and voted for your favorite chili and/or chowder – maybe you were one of our winners! The raffle tickets sold at a fast pace for the 16 valuable items that were donated by local businesses. All of the winners left with smiling faces 🙂 Kids dressed in their Halloween Costumes paraded around the library and they all made ghost crafts and ate cookies, etc. from the Baked Goods table. The Daily News was there and printed a picture of it on page 2 the next day! Live music was provided once again by Ben Janvrin, Derek Cotter and Nathaniel Howard.
Stay tuned for dates of the Friends up-coming Restaurant fundraising events. We appreciate all the money raised through your Friends Membership Dues, donations, purchases from the Book Sale Room and event participation. Every penny of it contributes to funding nearly 100% of the library programs and is fully tax-deductible as we are a 501c3 non-profit organization. Examples of purchases made possible include Friday Nov. 18 Gratitudes and Etudes (readings and music) with guitarist Scott Ouellette classical guitarist and composer, Ancestry.com software and speakers, Dave Polansky’s music program “Music Through the Decades”, Minecraft, Storys and Crafts and more.
