All our brainstorming has paid off! Here’s a list of what we’ve come up with so far. There are even more events in the works and we’ll post the final details in the next few weeks.
AmazonSmile. You already save money by shopping with Amazon, and now the AmazonSmile Program will donate 5% of your purchases to us. We give the full amount back to the library to help cover the expenses of technology and more. It’s as easy as choosing us as your charity, The Friends of the Newbury Town Library, when you register for AmazonSmile.
Oregano’s in Newburyport will donate 10% of all sales to us on Wednesday, February 24th. If you’re meeting up with friends for a drink and apps, lunch or a special dinner, consider your library before choosing your restaurant and they reap the rewards!
Tea Collection is offering a discount of 15% the week of Feb. 22 – 29 and free shipping. Shop online at Tea Collection and your discounted amount will be sent to us. We give the full amount raised to the library which helps them to cover the costs of equipment and supplies for the Children’s Programs and more.

The next time you’re at the library, an event or attending a program, check out the brand new, professionally made and eye-catching signs announcing Proudly sponsored by the Friends of the Newbury Town Library and Thank you for supporting the Friends of the Newbury Town Library. We want to publicly thank the community for using your library, attending events and maintaining your Membership dues. Without you, the library wouldn’t be able to afford to offer the high caliber and assortment of programs, technology and museum passes that they do.
Book Sale Room Update
Thanks to Ashley Remignanti and Tammy Cotter for sorting and transporting dozens of books from the Book Sale Room to the NES Book Swap. We are weeding out the books as part of the on-going renovation of the room. A new banner, “Book Sale sponsored by the Friends of the Newbury Town Library”, has been professionally made for above the doorway. Come in and fill a bag with like-new and/or new books for $5.00! Let us know if you can volunteer any time to assist in weeding out books for the new shelving.
The Friends Account Balance is $11,126.85. There are 118 active Members. Please renew if it’s time, or become a new Member. The yearly membership dues are minimal and pay for the Museum Passes that the library provides. You must be a member to reserve one. Signing up or renewing is easily done on this website, the library website, in person at the library or through the mail. For more information on membership or Museum Passes please visit the library website http://newburylibrary.org.
The Lois W. Smith Endowment Fund balance is $12,977.61. Please consider donating to the fund in Lois’ memory. She was our biggest fan and a Trustee of the library. Her vision was to have the library be self-sustaining in the future. She was well known and loved by the community and more. The funds are never spent. For more information please contact us.
All the best,
